Keweenaw Chamber Office Remains Closed After Nearby Fire

The recent explosion and fire that leveled an apartment building at 908 College Avenue last month remains under investigation.

Because the cause has not yet been determined, the adjacent William Hodge Visitors Center remains closed.

That means the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce is without a home, but manager Tara Arens says they’re still doing business…

We are operating outside of our office, so if you want to get ahold of us, don’t go down there just yet. Wait ’til the clean-up crews and all that are out of there, but you can still call us. We’re checking our voicemail. We can be reached by email, and, of course, just by mail, too.

Although investigators still don’t know why the apartment building caught fire, they have eliminated foul play as a potential cause.
