All Ladies Invited To Free ‘Fun & Fancy – Girls & Pearls’ Aspiring Women Event In Houghton

LAURIUM, Mich. – An elegant evening with black tablecloths and live classic guitar music awaits all ladies at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital and Clinics’ next Aspiring Women event.

The Fun & Fancy – Girls & Pearls FREE Girls’ Night Out takes place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, in the Memorial Union Ballroom at Michigan Tech. Ladies are invited to join in the soiree in recognition of breast cancer awareness month and to celebrate cancer survivors and thrivers.

Make this night a time to commit to each other to stay up-to-date on recommended women’s health screenings with Zuhair Ghanem, MD, Aspirus Upper Peninsula Regional Director of Oncology and Hematology. Advance registration is required to attend. Reserve your spot by calling Aspiring Women Coordinator Jenn Jenich-Laplander at 906-337-6541.

You will enjoy live classic guitar music performed by local musician Pat Valencia; and a photo booth with fun and fancy props. U.P. Bras that Fit, Inc. of Escanaba will also be on hand. They kindly donated three gift certificates for free bra fittings, which will be raffled off along with other fun prizes during the event. Fancy dress is optional – it’s not required!

“We really wanted to step it up for this Girls’ Night Out event and make it something extra special,” said Jenich-Laplander. “Our Women’s Health Team had a lot of fun planning it. I think everyone will be really surprised to see what’s in store.”

The Fun & Fancy evening includes:

  • Appetizer and dessert stations
  • Complimentary cocktail
  • Opportunities to ask questions, including anonymous questions
  • Aspiring Women “pearl” gift

Fun & Fancy – Girls & Pearls is the seventh Aspiring Women event Aspirus Keweenaw has held in the community. The Aspiring Women program is designed to inspire health and wellness through educational and entertaining events for women. Since Aspirus Keweenaw launched the program in May of 2016, membership has grown to over 600 women of all ages. Membership is free and includes invitations to events and free e-newsletters.
