Laurium Murder Suspect Found Not Competent To Stand Trial

A Laurium man charged with murder is being ordered into treatment.

 

Kitti, Christian incompetent32-year-old Christian Paul Kitti was determined to be Incompetent to Stand Trial in 97th District Court in Houghton County.

The court received a report from the Department of Health and Human Services and the Center for Forensic Psychiatry.

The court also found that there is a substantial probability that the defendant could be made competent with treatment.

Kitti was ordered into a treatment facility until he can be declared fit to answer to the charge.

Kitti is charged in the shooting death of his sister, 44-year-old Kimberly Renee Bess of Calumet in July.

Because of his mental state, the court cannot make a judgment as to his criminal responsibility in the case.
