Laurium to Coordinate Halloween Activities with Calumet

The village of Laurium will coordinate plans for a Halloween celebration October 29th with the village of Calumet.

At Tuesday’s Laurium village council meeting, council member Jeff Erickson noted that Calumet’s popular Trunk or Treat event will run from 3 until 5…

We’re going to co-opt that same day, and do our Halloween candy handout and a Touch A Truck at the fire department, and we’re going to schedule it before the trick-or-treat thing downtown.

With the Laurium event moved to early afternoon, that would create an opportunity for the Calumet High School Drama Club to resume its haunted house at the George Gipp Arena…

If we do this, we no longer need the Gipp on Halloween, so I’ve given them the opportunity to open up the haunted house on Saturday, the 29th, and run it through Halloween.

Erickson indicated that the drama club has not yet committed to the project.
