Little Brothers Plans Thanksgiving Dinners for Elders

Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly is in the home stretch of planning this year’s Thanksgiving Dinners.

The free meals are open to area residents age 60 and older who would otherwise be alone on the holiday.

Volunteers are still needed to fill a number of roles, especially delivering meals to homebound seniors. You can sign up by calling Little Brothers, or on their website.

Or, Gail Ross says you can attend a volunteer session tonight at 6:00 at their office in Hancock…

If you’re planning to attend a meal on Thursday, Little Brothers’ Executive Director Cathy Aten would like to know you’re coming…

The number to call is 482-6944. Call that same number if you need to arrange a delivery.

If you’d like to help support the meal program financially, stop at the Little Brothers office in Hancock.

Dinners in the Copper Country will be served Thursday at 2:00 at the Church of the Resurrection in Hancock, Sacred Heart Church in Calumet, St. Ignatius Church in Houghton, the Doelle Senior Center in Tapiola, Grace Lutheran Church in South Range, the Horizons School in Mohawk, St. Ann’s Church in Baraga, and Holy Family Church in Ontonagon.
