Local Business Leaders Invited To Keweenaw Alliance Breakfast

The Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance to provide a breakfast session for local business leaders.

It’s called the Keweenaw Alliance Breakfast and it’s the rebranding of the monthly KEDA breakfast meetings, incorporating the former Eggs N’ Issues once held by the Chamber.

Chamber President Karin Van Dyke says many of the people who attend these events are members of both organizations. “There’s a lot of organizations to pay dues to, so we work very carefully with KEDA members and Chamber members—many of us are the same—to have this joint breakfast which features speakers that are of interest to both,” said Van Dyke.

You don’t have to be a member of either the Chamber or KEDA, but Van Dyke says you’ll see why becoming a member would be a good idea.

“It is a member service event but it’s also a member recruiting event, so there’s new folks that come to town,” she said.  “There’s folks. if you look around the room and you’ve never seen them before, you can go up and introduce yourselves and find out that it’s from local businesses, you find little mom and pop shops, local government, the townships—depending on what the issue is.  It’s a great variety of people.”

The meetings will be held on the second Wednesday of the month at the Finnish American Heritage Center starting in April at 7:30am.
