Local Businesses Asked To Report Flood Damage

The Michigan Small Business Development Center of Upper Peninsula, in response to flood damage, is collecting information on all small businesses in the region that were affected or sustained damage from the flooding. This could include physical damage to property, loss of sales due to closures, loss of future sales due to infrastructure damage in the immediate vicinity, to name a few. This information will assist your local representatives in understanding the impact on Houghton County economy and may be used to clarify assistance needed.

Jeff Ratcliff with KEDA will be collecting information on all Houghton county businesses on behalf of the SBDC. Please call or email with details on damage, loss, and any other economic impact to your business. Even if you have insurance or other means to take care of the damages, we would appreciate your input. Call (989) 350-1206 or email jeff@kedabiz.com.

As we move through this recovery, the SBDC will stay in contact with all businesses in the area, however this list will help us to move quickly when assistance becomes available. In the meantime, if any businesses need immediate assistance such as cash flow analysis for this event’s impact, or assistance in gathering necessary information for bank support, please contact Darlene Gronevelt phone (906) 523-4125 or email dmgronev@mtu.edu.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for any questions related to your small businesses needs. At this time, we are not sure of the full extent of assistance that is required, therefore if we do not have the ability to assist we may have the ability to find the right resource for your questions.
