Markkanen Receives Committee Assignments

State Representative Greg Markkanen will serve as senior minority member on two House committees this term.

Accompanied by his wife, Jane, Representative Greg Markkanen is sworn in by outgoing House Clerk Gary Randall.

The Hancock Republican has been appointed Vice Chair of the House committees on Elections, and Military, Veterans and Homeland Security. 

Markkanen will also serve on the House committees on Education, Insurance and Financial Services, and Tax Policy. 

Markkanen represents the new 110th House District, which includes Iron, Houghton, Keweenaw, Ontonagon, and Gogebic counties, and a portion of Dickinson County.

He recently hired former Representative Beau LaFave of Iron Mountain to serve as his legislative director.
