Michigan Tech Applications Outpacing Last Year

Applications for the 2018-19 academic year are well above where they were at this time last year, the Michigan Technological Board of Trustees learned at its regular meeting on Friday, December 15, 2017.  Applications are over 5,000, the highest they have ever been at this time of year, said Les Cook, vice president for student affairs and advancement.

“The numbers for fall 2018 continue to look incredibly strong, some of the highest we’ve seen this early in the cycle,” Cook said. “And the good news is that all of the schools and colleges are experiencing a positive upswing.”

“With the recent career fair, our graduates earning some of the highest salaries in the country and rising national rankings, it’s no wonder that students and their parents are taking notice of Michigan Tech,” he went on to say.

Trustees approved room and board rates for the 2018-19 academic year. A standard, double-occupancy room with a meal plan including $150 in dining dollars per semester will be $10,726, an increase of 2.67 percent. Rental rates for apartments in Daniell Heights will range from $705 for a one-bedroom to $1,260 for a three-bedroom.
