Michigan Tech Celebrating World Water Day

Water is our most precious resource and there are several events planned to celebrate and bring awareness to issues related to H2O.

International World Water Day is held annually on March 22nd and Michigan Tech’s Great Lakes Research Center will be hosting the festivities starting this Wednesday.

Michigan Tech’s Val Gagnon says the theme each year is chosen by the United Nations. “The theme this year is ‘Leaving No One Behind’,” said Gagnon. “There’s so many different kinds of water issues that are affecting people in different ways across the world and so this was our way of celebrating and drawing attention to that issue here in the Great Lakes region.”

A link to a full schedule can be found on the Great Lakes Research Center’s website and all of the events are free and open to the public.
