MTU Provost/SVP Candidates to Make Presentations

On-campus interviews for Michigan Tech’s open position of Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs will be held over the next two weeks.

Four semifinalists have been selected. 

In addition to the formal job interviews, each semifinalist will give two public presentations sharing their vision for Michigan Tech, and how their experience has prepared them for this task.

The four are:
• Andrew Stohrer, the interim provost, and Dean of the MTU College of Forest Resources and Environmental Science;
• Sean Lane, Chief Academic, Administrative and Financial officer at the University of Alabama-Huntsville;
• John Kiss, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro; and
• Andreas Polycarpou, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department and Acting Dean of the School of Dentistry at Texas A and M University.

The public presentations have been scheduled as follows:
 • Andrew Storer: Feb. 20 at 3 p.m. or Feb. 21 at 3 p.m.
 • Sean Lane: Feb. 23 at 10:30 a.m. or Feb. 24 at 2 p.m.
 • John Kiss: Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. or Feb. 28 at 3 p.m.
 • Andreas Polycarpou: March 2 at 10:30 a.m. or March 3 at 3 p.m.

All presentations will occur in the East Reading Room of the Opie Library. An opportunity to provide candidate feedback will be available on the search webpage at the conclusion of each semifinalist’s visit.
