Michigan Tech’s Army Reserve Officers Training Corps unit has received a high honor.
The 1st Arctic Warrior Battalion was unanimously selected to receive the MacArthur Award for the 2022-23 academic year. The honor is bestowed on the best of the Midwest’s 42 university ROTC programs.
The Arctic Warriors will now compete with seven other regional winners for the honor of top overall ROTC program in the nation.
Seventy MTU students are enrolled in the ROTC program. Three Air Force cadets and five Army cadets who are graduating will be commissioned tomorrow morning at 7:30 at the Rozsa Center.
