Peace Walk Held In Wake Of Presidential Election

A Peace Walk was held to reassure underrepresented students, faculty and community members that they are loved.

Michigan Tech student Neffertia Tyner is the Community Outreach Specialist for the Center for Diversity and Inclusion.

The silent demonstration started on campus and headed down College Avenue in Houghton.

There have been several protests nationally against the election of Donald Trump, but organizers say that’s not what this is about.

There have been reports of an increase in hate crimes and civil rights complaints throughout the country recently.

Organizers of this event just want people to know that they are there to help support them.
