Quinnesec Man Named Outstanding Conservationist

Anton “Tony” Demboski of Quinnesec has been awarded 2020’s “Outstanding Conservationist” from the Upper Peninsula’s Sportsmen’s Alliance.

Dave Johnson, UPSA’s president said “Through his important work in this group and elsewhere, Tony Demboski repeatedly demonstrated his caring, concern and willingness to act on behalf of conservation issues.” Johnson also added “Demboski is a shining example of an “Outstanding Conservationist.”

An Iron River native, Demboski previously presided over the U.P. Sportsman’s Alliance for 7 years, and  led efforts to battle chronic wasting disease in the region.

In addition to the numerous organizations he has led or been a part of, Demboski is also a hunter safety instructor.

The U.P Sportsman’s Alliance was founded in 1982, to unite sportsman’s groups in the region for a common cause.

Today, the group is made up of over 55 clubs, which represent over 50,000 members.
