Record Number Of Incoming Students For Finlandia University

Anderson also shared good news concerning Finlandia University at the City Council’s work session Wednesday.

Finlandia University signAt their Community Partners Meeting, it was announced that Finlandia is expecting a record number of new students this fall–topping the 300 mark.

Finn Hall is expected to be triple bunked to accommodate the growth.

The increasing number of students is forcing the university to look at additional housing options.

One possibility being considered is converting an office building back into a dormitory for next year.

There are new degree options for the new enrollees to choose from—Finlandia has launched a B.S. in Health Information Management degree and a 4-year Nursing Degree is now available online.

The College of Health and Sciences is expected to be fully funded soon between money received from the Portage Health Foundation and private fundraising.

That will allow the renovation of the former Hancock Middle School to begin this fiscal year will programming being offered as early as the 2017 Fall Semester.

Looking ahead, the university will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for their new football locker rooms on September 3rd.
