Road Construction Starts

Spring is here, and that means roadwork construction has started.

There are several projects that Copper Country residents  need to know about.

Beginning today, MDOT will start improvements to the M28 Baltimore River Bridge in Ontonagon County,  aimed at extending the life of the bridge. This project is expected to last into mid-October.

Work begins  April 30th, to repair 5 miles of US41/M28 from the Marquette/Baraga County Line, to Three Lakes. That project is expected to wrap up the first week in October.

On May 4th, MDOT will begin resurfacing approximately 26 miles of M26 and US 41 in Keweenaw County. The project is expected to last until July 24th.

A link with more information regarding costs, traffic restrictions and safety benefits of the work, is here.
