Six Keweenaw Natives Among Newest State Police Troopers

Six young men from the Copper Country were sworn in as new Michigan State Police troopers yesterday.

They were among 59 graduates from the MSP’s 142nd Trooper Recruit School.

Nolan Jenich of Calumet will be assigned to the Negaunee Post. Mason Heinonen of Houghton will be attached to the Wakefield Post. The rest will be assigned to the Calumet Post, including Trevor Hendrickson from Calumet, Ryan Kuntze from Chassell, Brandon Rastello from South Range, and Ryan Staricha from Houghton.
