Keweenaw residents continue to show support for those affected by the recent flash floods.

Many took part in a benefit concert that was organized to raise funds for those who’s homes were affected.

Hundreds gathered at the Chassell Pavilion in Centennial Park Thursday night in support of the relief effort for Houghton County flood victims.

Show goers enjoyed three bands playing bluegrass favorites and original songs alike.

Headlining was Chasin’ Steel, a Marquette based quartet who kept several dancing, and the rest of the crowd clapping and toe tapping until around 10:00 pm.

They were preceded by the Paul Family band who collaborated with the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce and the Portage Health Foundation to organize the event.

The evening was kicked off by Keweenaw Brewgrass, a six-piece variety band who took the stage at 7:00.

Sponsored by Keweenaw Chevrolet, the concert was deemed as a success, with all proceeds collected going toward flood victims.

The relief effort is ongoing and still collecting monetary donations. Those can be made at http://www.phfgive.org/
