Three Sent to Prison for Meth Distribution

Three Houghton County men have been sentenced to long prison terms for distributing crystal methamphetamine in the Upper Peninsula.

Thirty-four-year-old Ryan Lee Timko, of Houghton, received a 192-month sentenced. Thirty-seven-year-old Joseph Brusso, of Atlantic Mine, was sentenced to 132 months. Twenty-nine-year-old Nicholas Patrick Cornish of Calumet received a 120-month term.

The sentences were handed down by U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney.

Timko, Brusso, and Cornish were convicted of traveling to the Lower Peninsula to get crystal methamphetamine. Officials say they eventually sold more than a pound of the drug in the Western U.P.

They were arrested after a long-term investigation by the Upper Peninsula
Substance Enforcement Team. Homeland Security Investigations, Customs and Border Protection Laboratory and Scientific Services Directorate, the Michigan State Police, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Houghton City Police assisted UPSET during the course of the investigation.
