Two Houghton County Residents Arrested on Meth Charges

Two Houghton County residents have been arrested following a drug raid today (Thursday).

Detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) executed a search warrant at a residence located in Calumet. A 37-year-old male from Calumet and a 34-year-old female from Lake Linden were taken into custody on charges related to the possession with the intent to deliver meth.

As a result of the search, detectives seized approximately 6.5 ounces of crystal meth, $6,851 in cash and evidence related to the distribution of meth.

Detectives also observed blasting caps. The Michigan State Police Bomb Squad removed those devices safely.

Both suspects were lodged in the Houghton County Jail. Names have not been released.

UPSET was assisted by the Houghton County Sheriff’s Department, the MSP Calumet Post, the MSP K-9 unit and the MSP Bomb Squad.
