UGL Health Adds Hancock MD

Rosmin Jos, MD, has joined the team of family medicine providers at Upper Great Lakes Hancock
Family Health Center – Family Practice (UGL).

Dr. Jos earned her Doctor of Medicine Degree from Pleven Medical University in Pleven, Bulgaria in 2003, then received her Master of Public Health Degree from Michigan State University in 2016. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at Pontiac General Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan in 2021.

Through her studies and work experience, Dr. Jos has found that she enjoys problem solving and is passionate about preventive care for her patients. She says, “I enjoy managing my patients’ health and well-being. With that in mind comes evaluating health concerns in an efficient manner, organizing a plan, problem solving, working with a strong support team to achieve patient-centered care, and implementing preventive care.”

After finishing her degree and residency, Dr. Jos knew she wanted to remain in Michigan. After visiting the Upper Peninsula and getting know people from the area, she decided to make the U.P. home. Dr. Jos looks to support her patients in getting healthy and staying healthy. “Life experience in a multicultural frame of work has taught me the importance of making health care more accessible, affordable, and being served in a timely fashion. It is essential to work closely with patients to recognize their health needs, plan out their optimal management, and ultimately promote a healthy community,” says Dr. Jos.

Dr. Jos credits her family, parents, and siblings for being her support system through her studies. She says the support from her family was crucial to getting to where she is now.
