UP Health System Portage Begins Testing For COVID-19

UP Health System Portage has announced it will begin in-house testing for COVID-19.

This comes in a time where increased testing capacity is vital to ensure the safety of our residents.

Since the outbreak of the virus, lack of testing, and long wait times for results, were among the biggest concerns.

With access to faster test results, better patient care and safety for employees comes next.

The new testing ability also allows healthcare providers to make more informed decisions on treating patients, and will help optimize the use of personal protective equipment.

Chief Executive Officer of UPHS-Portage Ed Freysinger said “As we continue to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, the availability of diagnostic testing is critical in helping to identify and control the spread of the illness.”
