UP Woman Charged With Animal Cruelty

An Ironwood woman is facing animal cruelty charges after nearly 40 animals were removed from her home.

37-year-old Crystal Marie Lotzer was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with Felony Animal Cruelty and misdemeanor Failure to Provide Care.

Authorities say Lotzer was holding a large number of animals inside her home that were not being taken care of, including 4 dogs, 7 cats, 20 rabbits, 2 ducks, a raven, a seagull, and a snake.

All of the animals were all removed from the interior of her home.

Lotzer was lodged at the Gogebic County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
