Vacancy Opens on Houghton Planning Commission

There’s a vacancy on the Houghton City Planning Commission.

Michele Jarvie-Eggart has stepped down because she is moving out of the city. Anyone interested in serving on the commission should contact city officials.

At last night’s meeting, the commission heard that demolition work has largely been completed on the fire-damaged structures at 908 and 915 College Avenue. The owner of 908 College Avenue – the apartment building that was destroyed in March – has no plans for the site, yet. SEMCO crews are expected to make a final inspection of the gas lines at the site in May.
