Volunteers For Senior Phone Call Program Needed

VOLUNTEERS WHO ARE 55 AND OLDER ARE NEEDED –

MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY FROM HOME

The Western U.P. Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is looking for volunteers for the new Keeping Independent Seniors Safe (KISS) Program.

The KISS program is a telephone reassurance program providing FREE phone calls to area seniors who are in need of someone to touch base with them to ensure their well-being and/or have a friendly conversation on a regular basis. The KISS Program is intended to serve area seniors or disabled adults who are homebound, isolated, living alone or otherwise in need of daily contact to ensure personal safety.

Participants in the KISS program receive a daily phone call from an RSVP Volunteer, based on a time decided upon by the participant and the volunteer. The daily KISS call provides an added feeling of security for the senior living independently.

So if you are looking for a way to help your local community but don’t want to travel, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Please contact Christina Mayworm, RSVP Program Specialist at 482-7382 ext. 151 or by email at cmayworm@wuphd.org to learn more about the KISS Program.
