A Wisconsin man was killed in a single-car crash in Iron County, Michigan, yesterday.
State Police troopers say a pickup truck driven by 64-year-old Verne St. Pierre of Phelps veered off Forest Highway 16 near the Smokey Lake Road intersection in Stambaugh Township, and hit several trees.
As he was pulled from the wreckage, St. Pierre was able to tell officers that he had fallen asleep while driving.
He was taken to Aspirus Hospital in Iron River, where he died from his injuries.
