Wisconsin Man Killed In Snowmobile Crash

A Wisconsin man is dead following a snowmobile accident in southern Houghton County.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post responded to Trail #8 near M-28 Wednesday.

41-year-old Jamie Steen of Curtiss, Wisconsin was reportedly driving northbound on Trail #8 when he lost control of his snowmobile on a curve.

The snowmobile left the trail and struck a tree.

Steen was killed as a result of the crash.

Police say their preliminary investigation indicates speed was a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Troopers were assisted on the scene by personnel from Bay Ambulance and Duncan Township First Responders.
