Wolf Pups Born On Isle Royale

Were wolf pups born on Isle Royale?

All fingers point toward “Yes.”

Data from GPS collars and images from remote cameras suggest pups were born in 2019 and 2020, although an exact number of pups has yet to be determined.

Liz Valencia, Isle Royale Media Coordinator.

Wolves were first relocated to Isle Royale in 2018, in an attempt to re-establish a wolf population on the island.

Researchers estimate the current number of wolves on the island to be 14, with their ideal number being 22.
