Looper Pleads No Contest

A Hancock man will be sentenced for attacking a woman with a knife.

41-year-old Jeremy Looper pleaded “No Contest” to Felony Domestic Violence…which is a five-year felony.

Because of his prior criminal record, Looper could be sentenced for up to seven years.

The original charges of 1st Degree Home Invasion and Assault with a Deadly Weapon were dismissed.

The charges stem from an incident in June when police say Looper attacked a Lake Linden woman at her apartment.

Looper and the victim had reportedly been in a relationship together at one point.

Sentencing is scheduled for December.

In the meantime, Looper will remain in the Houghton County Jail.
