Man Hospitalized After Snowmoble Crash In Keweenaw County

One man was taken to the hospital after crashing his snowmobile Tuesday afternoon in Keweenaw County.

Deputies from the Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office say they were sent to the accident on Trail #130 near Delaware around 2:00 p.m. Fifty-year old Johnathan Schlemmmer of Roscoe, Illinois, was traveling westbound on the trail when he lost control of his sled. He ran off the trail’s left side and into a tree.

Schlemmer was transported by Mercy Ambulance to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. The Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Ahmeek Off-Road Rescue.
