Marquette Diocese Passes Sexual Abuse Audit

Marquette Catholic Diocese ArtThe Catholic Diocese of Marquette has again found to be in compliance with the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. The Charter was adopted by the U.S. Catholic bishops in 2002 to address the problem of child and youth sexual abuse by clergy. Bishop John Doerfler encourages anyone who has knowledge of sexual abuse within the church to report it. You can do that through the Diocesan website, by calling one of the Victim’s Assistance Coordinators, Stephen Lynott at 844-495-4330 or Diane Tryan at 844-694-4362, or by writing to:  Victim’s Assistance Coordinator, c/o Catholic Social Services of the U.P., 1100 Ludington St., Suite 401, Escanaba, MI 49829.  The letter should be marked “Personal and Confidential” and indicate whether a response is desired by phone or by letter.
