MDOT Gets Green Light to Move Forward on Gordie Howe Bridge Project

The Michigan Department of Transportation will get access to land owned by Ambassador Bridge owner Matty Moroun to allow construction of the Gordie Howe International Bridge to move forward.

MDOT needed access to the land for surveying and other work related to the new bridge.

The bridge will be paid for by the Canadian government and link Detroit to Windsor.

The state sought a court order to allow state officials to use the property, which is a trucking terminal owned by Crown Enterprises, before the company gave permission.

Work on the property includes taking measurements and photographs, appraising the property and conducting what the state calls noninvasive environmental inspections.
