Michigan’s Main Street program is getting a makeover.
The manager of the Main Street program at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation says the new effort to revitalize historic downtowns and commercial districts will be called Main Street America.
It will work in partnership with the National Main Street Center and 45 other state, city and county Main Street programs.
The state has been working since 2003 to revitalize downtowns.
The M.E.D.C. says nearly $150 million in private investment has been made leading to more than 300 new businesses and 1,200 new jobs.
