Michigan Poll Shows Trump Ahead But Clinton & Sanders In Dead Heat

A new statewide poll shows Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton in a statistical dead heat for the Democratic presidential nomination and Donald Trump leads among Republican candidates.

The survey of likely Republican voters in Tuesday’s presidential primary in Michigan comes from Michigan State University.

At stake in Michigan are 147 Democratic delegates and 59 Republican delegates.

That’s second highest to date, after Texas.

Among Democrats, Clinton leads Sanders 52 to 47.

On the GOP side, Trump has 36 percent, followed by Ted Cruz at 20, Marco Rubio at 18 and John Kasich at nine percent.

Trump did best among talk radio listeners and those without college degrees. Cruz leads among those who call themselves very conservative.

Rubio does best among those with positive views of racial and religious minorities.

Among the Democrats, Clinton does best with conservative wing of her party and Sanders does best with the liberals.

The survey was conducted by MSU’s Institute for Public Policy and Social Research.
