By this time of the year, Yoopers are already anticipating the first signs of winter but if you think we’ll have one like last year’s, thinkg again. According to federal weather forecasters, a new report says that chances of an extremely hard winter like the one Michigan experienced last winter are low. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says extremely cold and snowy weather is “unlikely” this winter. However, while Michigan is not likely to get the extremely low temperatures of last winter, NOAA does forecast that there is an equal chance of Michigan either being colder or warmer than normal, this winter. And NOAA adds that precipitation in Michigan will be below average this winter.
