The man accused of a stabbing back in September will appear in court in this afternoon. Paul Moilanen is scheduled to appear in Houghton County Circuit Court today for his pretrial hearing. He is being charged with the second-degree murder of 48-year-old Marcy LaVigne, and the attempted murder of LaVigne’s teenage daughter. If convicted, Moilanen could spend life behind bars.
