After two months on the job, new Northern Michigan University President Fritz Erickson says he’s beginning to understand the lay of the land… ERICKSON. Erickson came to NMU from Ferris State University, where he served as provost and vice president for academic affairs. He says the loudest message he’s hearing from the community is the need for the university to find ways to support economic growth and job development.
