The Michigan Tech soccer team scored two second half goals, and defeated Winona State 2-1 yesterday afternoon. The Warriors scored early, but the Huskies tied the game with a Stephanie Yeager goal in the 70th minute, and won it when Grace Shaw found the net in the 81st minute.

The Detroit Tigers lost to the Saint Louis Cardinals 5-2 yesterday. Michael Fulmer pitched five perfect innings for the Tigers. He lost the shutout in the sixth, then lost the game as the Cardinals broke through for five runs in the top of the seventh. Detroit responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh, but couldn’t get back into the game.

The Tigers entertain the Houston Astros tonight. Francisco Liriano will start against Justin Verlander. Because of Detroit Lions football on 99.3 The Lift, pregame coverage will begin at 5:45 on KBear 102.3.

The Milwaukee Brewers completed a sweep of the San Francisco Giants with a 6-3 victory yesterday. Jonathan Schoop’s grand slam in the sixth inning was the big blow. The blast came right after Giants’ pitcher Madison Bumgarner had loaded the bases by hitting Ryan Braun. That sparked an argument that wound up with Milwaukee manager Craig Counsell and two players being ejected from the game.

The Brewers open a critical series against the division-leading Cubs in Chicago tonight. Wade Miley will pitch against Jon Lester. Milwaukee trails Chicago by two games in the National League Central Division.

NFL
The Green Bay Packers scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter, and edged the Chicago Bears 24-23 last night. The Bears built a 17-0 lead at halftime, and knocked Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers out of the game with a knee injury. Rodgers returned for the second half, though, and tossed three touchdown passes to lead the comeback. Rodgers’ knee will be evaluated further today.

The Detroit Lions entertain the New York Jets tonight. Hear the game on 99.3 The Lift.
