The pathologist who performed the autopsy on 27-year-old Sanaz Nezami told the jury in her husband’s murder trial this morning that Nezami died from blunt force trauma to her head. Dr. John Weiss from Marquette General Hospital was the the day’s first witness in the second-degree murder trial of 33-year-old Nima Nassiri. Nassiri is accused of beating Nezami to death at their home in Dollar Bay last December. Defense attorney David Gemignani asked Weiss if he had performed tests to see if Nezami suffered from a bleeding disorder that might have aggravated the severity of her injuries. Weiss said that he had not. Nassiri faces a possible life sentence if convicted.
