Pelkie Elementary School To Close

Students at Pelkie Elementary will be attending school somewhere else in the fall following the announcement that their school will be closing at the end of this school year.

The decision was made at Baraga Area School District board meeting on Monday.

During public forums held in January…Superintendent Jennifer Lynn cited declining enrollment and the district’s budget issues as reasons for the possible closure.
