Public Favors Wage Increase

According to a new statewide poll, two-thirds of likely Michigan voters support an increase of Michigan’s minimum wage from the current $7.40 cents, to $10.10 per hour. The survey shows 65 percent supporting the initiative, and 32 percent opposing. Three percent are undecided. The poll has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus four percentage points. Pollster Dennis Denno says 85 percent of Democratic voters support the increase and 40 percent of Republicans support it.
