Public Invited To Come See The MacNaughton Cup

The MacNaughton Cup is back home and you’ve got a chance to have your picture taken with it this afternoon.

Members of the Michigan Tech hockey staff will have the MacNaughton Cup at Wadsworth Dining Hall today from 12-1 p.m.

Tech students, faculty, staff and fans who attend will have the opportunity to see the trophy and take photos.

The MacNaughton Cup, which is awarded annually to the WCHA regular-season champions, originated in the Copper Country in 1913 and is one of the most famous trophies in hockey.

Michigan Tech’s title this season is the first for the program since 1975-76.

The nationally ranked Huskies are off to play in the 2016 WCHA Final Five this weekend in Grand Rapids.

Tickets to the tournament still remain and can be purchased at the SDC Ticket Office, online at BuyHuskiesTickets.com or over the phone at 906-487-2073.
