Record Number Of Wolves Counted In Wisconsin

The gray wolf population has reached an all–time high in Wisconsin.

Gray Wolf 2Data released last week from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources showed that a count this past winter led to an estimate between 866 and 897 wolves in the state.

The wolves are spread across northern Wisconsin in 222 packs.

The count represents a 16% increase from last year.
