Snowmobiler Hospitalized After Colliding With A Car

A person was left with major injuries after a snowmobile accident involving a car Friday night.

Officials from the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department report that the accident happened at 7:21 p.m. on US–2 near Powderhorn Road in Bessemer Township.

Initial investigation revealed that a north bound snowmobile failed to yield to an east bound car on US–2. The driver of the snowmobile was ejected from the machine and suffered major injuries. The snowmobiler was transported to Aspirus Grandview Hospital and were airlifted to Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

The driver of the car was not injured and the accident is still under investigation.
