Washington – Congressman Jack Bergman has been selected to serve on the Subcommittee on Seapower and Projection Forces, Subcommittee on Readiness, and the Subcommittee on Military Personnel on the House Armed Services Committee. Congressman Bergman released the following statement:

“I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve in this new capacity on the House Armed Services Committee and look forward to my role on each subcommittee. As threats emerge in the 21st century it’s essential our warfighters have the necessary training and equipment to combat these threats, and that our weapons and fleet are prepared for the task. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Armed Services Committee to ensure these goals are met.”

Congressman Jack Bergman served in the United States Marine Corps for 40 years, as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, and most recently as Commander of Marine Forces North/Marine Forces Reserve. He retired in 2009 at the rank of Lieutenant General. After being elected in November 2016, Bergman became the highest ranking combat Veteran ever elected to Congress.
