Munising Patrol Car Involved In Crash

A Munising Police Officer is said to be at fault for causing a crash in Munising on Wednesday.

The crash happened around 4:45pm on West Munising Avenue near Commercial Street.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post say the officer was traveling westbound in a patrol car when it pulled onto the shoulder of the roadway then tried to make a U-turn.

The officer drove into the path of a 2015 Chrysler minivan and collided with it.

A 52-year-old Walled Lake man who was driving the minivan received a minor injury and was treated and released at the scene.

Both vehicles suffered major damage.

No further information was released and the crash is still under investigation.
