Negaunee Woman Arrested After Police Chase

A Negaunee woman is facing multiple charges after leading police on a chase through a residential area in a stolen vehicle.

The Marquette Police Department says the incident began Sunday shortly after 10:00am when a woman driving a tan Ford Taurus ran a stop sign at the corner of W. Bluff Street and Rublein Street.

The vehicle continued north on N. McClellan Avenue and made a left on W. Ridge Street.  Then the vehicle began to pick up speed and police learned that the vehicle was reported stolen.

The vehicle turned onto northbound Meeske Avenue after running the stop sign at that location and then ran the stop sign at Werner Street and Meeske Avenue before turning onto westbound Werner Street.

The vehicle ran through numerous stop signs in Marquette Township with speeds up to 45 MPH in the residential areas. The vehicle eventually stopped in the 4200 block of US-41 in Marquette Township.

34-year-old Jenny Donahue was then arrested for Fleeing and Eluding, Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile and Suspended Driving 3rd Offense. These charges and other possible charges are pending authorization from the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Marquette Police Department was assisted by Deputies from the Marquette County Sheriff Department and Troopers from the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post.
