ORV Rider Killed In Crash

One man is dead after an ORV crash in Marquette County over the weekend.

The accident happened shortly before midnight on Saturday on County Road 496 near County Road SN in Wells Township.

Troopers from the Negaunee State Police Post say an 80-year-old man crashed his ORV while heading westbound on County Road 496.

Lifesaving measures were performed on the man by responding personnel, but the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing and the driver’s name has not been released at this time.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by Forsyth Township Police, Forsyth Township EMS/Fire, and Wells Township EMS/Fire.
