State Support Of Non-Public School Students Rising

A new report from the Citizens Research Council says state support of non-public school students has grown substantially over the past four years.

The report says Michigan will spend nearly $100 million to support private school students.

That’s up from $57 million four years ago.

The increase comes as the state has implemented a “shared time” program that allows public schools to enroll private school students in non-core classes and claim state funding.
