Students Move Into Retirement Home For Research

A pioneering project in west Michigan as three Western Michigan University occupational therapy students are moving into a retirement community as part of a research project.

Director of resident living at Clark on Keller Lake in Cascade Township, Nancy Ayers, says this is the first time something like this is being done in the U.S.

Ayers says the students will be studying the prevalence of loneliness in the elderly and she says the students will be able to teach the seniors about applying technology and about current music trends during the 19 month project.
